My name is Estefan Mameng, born and raised in the Philippines. I was born on the 5th of January, 1992. I am currently living in Cayman Islands with my parents. I am the eldest of five children, so I have four siblings (3 brothers and a sister) which are all in the Philippines. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth, so my family and I been through a lot. My parents had to sacrifice being with us in order to support our family and for us to have a better quality of education. By God’s grace, I graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Arts major in Communications on 2013 then moved to Dubai, UAE the same year and worked as a Video Editor/Graphic Designer. On October 2014 I migrated to Cayman Islands and started working as a Pre-school teacher which I enjoy so much because of my love for kids. Now that I mentioned one of the things I love, let me tell you more about them: First of all, I love Jesus (well He’s not a thing, but still, He’s always my First), I love my family, I love writing (stories, poems, songs, etc.), drawing, reading, listening to music, watching movies, eating and sleeping =) I dance, play guitar and sing. Basically, I have passion for Arts and Music.
I became a Christian when I was 8 years old. It all started after I overheard my aunt telling my mom the story about Jesus at the living room of our house one afternoon. And because I love reading stories, I asked my aunt from which book did she read the story about Jesus, she told me that she read it from the Bible, book of John specifically. That day she gave me a Gideon Bible and I started reading the book of John. I loved the stories I’ve read but at the same time I got to know Jesus and from then on I fell in love with Him. On year 2000, I accepted Jesus Christ and started serving Him.
I grew up as a Christian and accepted Jesus at the young age but I had a full grasped of it when I was in high school. Being a Christian doesn’t mean that I’ve never experienced hardships. I’ve struggled in life and in my faith too. Since primary school, I’ve always been bullied by my classmates for being a Christian. I was so bold about my faith and I also love telling the story of Jesus to my classmates, but I ended up being bullied for it. I stand firm on my faith even until I reached college where I’ve experienced a lot of temptations, let alone peer pressure.
Through it all, I am looking unto Jesus, the author and perfecter or my faith. It is only by the grace of God that I am still standing right now. I am who I am today because of God.
I choreograph dances for our dance ministry. I am a worship leader and because of my love for music and my Saviour, I make songs that will tell the story of how good my God is. As a pre-school teacher, I am trying my best to share Jesus to young minds, because I know age is not a hindrance, so I am always ready to share the gospel and speak about the truth of Jesus, because I know that’s what we are all commissioned to do.
I am so thankful and grateful for the gifts that God has given me, and I believe that the reason why He gave me those talents is so that I can use them to glorify Him. So with everything I have I am trying my best to use them to share the gospel and testify to the good news of God’s grace.
My goal in life is to win souls for Christ as many as I can. My aim of winning souls for God doesn’t stop with my family and friends, but to every single person that I will encounter in my entire life. It is also my aim to live a life that will glorify God, to spend my life serving Him and the people around me.
Loving God and loving people is a task that I want to accomplish, and that one day I will hear God telling me “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
I am still a work in progress, but I know that God will never leave me nor forsake me. I don’t know what’s ahead of me but I believe that it is the best, for He knows the plan that He has for me, plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future.
