What we as Christians are about whether we sing, rap, write, dance etc, is not something to be taken lightly, yet quite unfortunately we have arrived at a biblically distasteful position.
We have now come to a place in Christendom where sadly, even the Christians themselves think that this stance is merely inspirational or some sort of enlightened religious view or some positive opinion, and so to the detriment of the understanding concerning the necessity of salvation.
FALLING AWAY FROM THE FAITH: is not just when we see people committing what we consider “big sins” it is denying the Gospel and the power of the Gospel in word and in deed, and that my friend can happen very subtly.
But I really want to focus on the Christian Ministry and the subject of all Christian Ministries.
The subject of the Christian Ministry is neither the ministry itself nor the minister, the subject is the Message, The Gospel.
That God in grace and mercy, to save a people from death that they deserve because of their sin, would send his only Son to die in their place that they may receive through faith what they do not deserve, that is eternal life.
As Christians this is what is to be reflected, anything less than this is not Christian at all.
So yes, it’s more than just music, dance, drama, poetry, preaching, more than any one act or any one person….The Christian Ministry is a platform for the preaching of the message of salvation.
So pardon me if when I hear people say “we are Christians but not Christian musicians” I only hear “we are Christians but not Christians”
This is in no way an attack on anyone, I voice this concern in hope that should anyone read this, (especially Christians) they would be spurred on in faith, diligence and loyalty to our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
My friends, if we believe the bible, then we also believe that Christianity is not just an opinion, rather, we understand its core beliefs to be necessary for life and eternal life.
It’s either we are, or we are not Christians. Perhaps it would be necessary to review who or what a Christian is…..maybe we could look at that next time. Until then remember…THE GOSPEL IS MORE THAN JUST INSPIRATIONAL IT IS NECESSARY.
I will close with this.
A Call to Persevere in Faith.
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another —and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? (Vs …end)
People are dead, and the Gospel is the only thing that brings dead men life…more than just inspirational; it’s necessary.
