The Son we worship

Revelation 1:10a “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day,” said John the Apostle… His experience that day was his own experience; not ours. But notice that he calls it “the Lord’s day.”

This Sunday many Christians across the world will gather. Why? Not because Sundays are automatically extra special or because we worship the sun, as some ignorantly claim. For over 2,000 years now, Christians have gathered on a Sunday, which has been called “the Lord’s day”, because of what it signifies. This is the day Jesus rose, in victory, from death. We gather to worship The Son who made the sun, and everything else that exists! Indeed, a day has no power in itself, for it is one day in seven. However, it serves to remind us of the The Sovereign One who has all power in Himself. We worship Jesus because according to The Father’s will “all things were made through him” (John 1:3), he became a man (John 1:14), lived, died and rose again to accomplish complete salvation for whoever will believe in Him! We worship the one true God. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. “God in three persons, blessed Trinity!”

It is “the Lord’s day”, so hear the words of The Lord Jesus:

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” -Mark 1:15

Psalm 2:10-12   “Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”

Blessed are all who take refuge in him…

Where do you “take refuge”? Where is your faith being placed? Turn and trust in The Son today. Come to Christ.

If you are a Christian, continue on the narrow path of repentance and faith, and whatever you are going through, rest in Christ Jesus. Let us also not neglect “to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” -Hebrews 10:25

Colossians 3:1-4 “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”

Happy Lord’s day! 🙂
